Campaign period: June 28 to July 16, 2004.


Participants: Docent Lars Karlsson, project director, Uppsala University, professor Pontus Hellström, Uppsala University, architect, Ph.D. Thomas Thieme, Göteborg, engineer Ivar Andersson, Stockholm, archaeologist Göksan Keskin, Stockholm and Ph.D. student Kadir Baran, Ankara University.

Campaign period: June 27 to July 15, 2005.

This year’s campaign took place during the four weeks between June 25 and July 22.


Participating members were the excavation director, Assistant Professor Lars Karlsson and Jesper Blid, M.A., both of Uppsala University , Jenni Hjohlman, PhD, Lovisa Strand, M.A. and archaeologist Göksan Keskin from Stockholm University . Other participants were Professor Pontus Hellström, Uppsala University, architect Thomas Thieme, Göteborg and Assistant Professor Paavo Roos from the University of Lund.

The excavations were visited for a short period by graduate student Ragnar Hedlund, Uppsala, and Dr Olivier Henry, from the University of Bordeaux , France . Finally, Aynur Tosun from the Museum of Antalya participated on behalf of the Turkish Ministry.

The campaign lasted for 5 weeks from June, 25 to July, 27, 2007.


Participants: Assoc. Prof. Lars Karlsson (project director), Jesper Blid, MA, Prof. Pontus Hellström, all from Uppsala University, Sandra Karlsson, MA, Göteborg University, archaeology student Augustus Lersten, engineer Krister Berggren and engineer Stefan Thorstensson, all from Stockholm. Also participating were Olivier Henry, PhD from Bordeaux University , France and now at Koç University in Istanbul and Kadir Baran, PhD from Mugla University , Turkey . Representing the Turkish Department of Culture was Nilgün Sinan Sentürk from Ankara.

The campaign lasted for five weeks from June 23 to July 25, 2008.


Participants: Assoc. Prof. Lars Karlsson (leader of the project), Prof. Pontus Hellström, Ragnar Hedlund, PhD, and Gunilla Bengtsson, BA, all from Uppsala University, PhD student Jesper Blid, Stockholm University and archaeology student Augustus Lersten, University of London. Also participating were Olivier Henry, PhD from Bordeaux University, France and Koç University in Istanbul, architect and PhD student Ayşe Henry, University of Illinois and Kadir Baran, PhD, Muğla university, Turkey. Representing the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Museums was Mustafa Samur from the Museum of Antalya.

The campaign lasted for five weeks from June 22 to July 24, 2009.


Participants: Prof. Lars Karlsson (leader of the project), Prof. Pontus Hellström, Ragnar Hedlund, PhD, all from Uppsala University, PhD student Jesper Blid, Stockholm University, PhD student Naomi Carless Unwin, University of London and surveyor student Anna Thieme, Stockholm Technical University. Also participating were architect PhD, Thomas Thieme, Chalmers Technical University, Göteborg, Olivier Henry, PhD from Bordeaux University, France and archaeology students Turgay Duman and Esra Üner, both from Muğla university, Turkey. Representing the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Museums was Uğur Serden from Corum Museum.

The campaign lasted for two months from August, 16 to October, 15, 2010.

Participants: Professor Lars Karlsson, Uppsala University (Project Director), Second Director Doç. Dr. Suat Ateşlier, Aydιn University, Prof. Pontus Hellström, Uppsala University, PhD Olivier Henry, Institut Français des Etudes Anatoliennes, Istanbul, PhD student Jesper Blid, Stockholm University, PhD student Naomi Carless-Unwin, University of London and PhD student Baptiste Vergnaud, Bordeaux University. Also participating were architects Chet Kanra, Stockholm and Thomas Thieme, PhD, Chalmers Technical University, Göteborg and archaeology students Augustus Lersten, London University, and Gunilla Bengtsson, M.A. and Klara Borgström, both Uppsala University, as well as conservator Agneta Freccero, Göteborg. Representing the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Museums were Zerrin Akdoğan and Melek Çanga, both from the Ministry in Ankara.

The campaign lasted for two months, from August, 1 to September 23, 2011.

The participants in this year’s campaign were: Professor Lars Karlsson, Uppsala University (Project Director), Doç. Dr. Olivier Henry, French Institute for Anatolian Studies (Field Director), The Labraunda Second Director Doç. Dr. Fatma Bağdatlι, Aydιn University, Prof. Pontus Hellström and Ragnar Hedlund, PhD, Uppsala University, PhD student Jesper Blid, Stockholm University, PhD student Naomi Carless Unwin, University College, London, PhD student Baptiste Vergnaud, Bordeaux University and PhD student Katerina Stathi, Florence University. Also participating were architect Thomas Thieme, PhD, Chalmers Technical University, Göteborg and archaeology student Augustus Lersten, University College, London. From Uppsala University came Gunilla Bengtsson, M.A., master student Axel Frejman and Klara Borgström, B.A. The marble conservation team consisted of Agneta Freccero, Erika Andersson and Andreas Bernth, all from Göteborg University. Archaeological conservator was Gülsum Ceren Şahin, Istanbul University and the three architectural historians from Middle East Technical University in Ankara were Merve Demiröz, Elif Durusoy and Ayşe Baykara. Representing the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Museums were Ersin Karapinar, Erzurum Museum and Mehmet Yildiz, Milas Museum.
