“The Swedish archaeological excavations in Labraunda in 2007 and the
celebration of 60 years of Swedish research in Karia”
The Swedish archaeological excavations at Labraunda began in 1948, initiated by the legendary Professor Axel
W. Persson of Uppsala University. The presentation of the recent work at Labraunda by Lars Karlsson and his team
includes a description of the excavations of the Early Byzantine Church by Jesper Blidh, and the Karian tombs by
Dr. Olivier Henry.
